Brian Tellis

Management Consultant

Brian is a seasoned management professional with decades of experience in the hospitality, tourism and beverages industries. He has worked in senior management roles at leading hotel chains in India, helping them grow their property portfolio while keeping a close watch on profitability. He was critical to strategy initiatives both with individual hotel builds as well as the far more complex regional chain initiatives over the course of a 30-year career.

An MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, one of India’s premier management institutions, Brian has worked with clients across the length and breadth of the country.

Brian played an integral role in facilitating the entry of US-based Choice Hotels International Inc. into the Indian market. He conducted market feasibility studies and extensively surveyed towns and cities in India to advise the management on domestic market expansion. Under his watch as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing, the chain launched and grew to over 16 locations in India. As the Head of Corporate Marketing, he also enabled Lords Hotels Group to grow from 3 to over 10 hotels.

Besides the hospitality sector, Brian has worked with destination tourism management companies and microbrewery firms and has advised clients on market feasibility and consumer marketing. He has a deep understanding of the Indian market and a strong understanding of consumer behaviour and spending habits. His hands-on approach to studying sub-markets within India and identifying untapped opportunities has enabled several international companies to enter and succeed in the Indian market.

Brian lives in Mumbai, India with his wife and two children. He enjoys traveling, reading, exploring hotel properties and spending quality time with family. An excellent chef and a great host, he is an active member of his Church in Mumbai and is always around to help those in need.
